Frequently Asked Questions
⏳ Non personalised prints and merchandise will be dispatched as normal - within 5 working days.
⏳ Booked roughly 20 months in advance for personal work
I work on a queue system. It’s free to enter the queue—just check out as normal, no payment is taken at this stage.
💌 How it Works - personalised orders
When I’m ready to dispatch your piece, I’ll email you to confirm if you’d still like to go ahead. Payment is only taken at that point. This keeps things flexible for both of us.
⚠️ Important Notes
- I cannot guarantee artwork by a specific date—including Christmas or events.
- I choose which projects to take on based on availability and interest.
- Submitting a request does not guarantee dispatch.
- You can cancel at any time—no pressure, no commitment.
- I reserve the right to decline orders at my discretion.
- I prioritise bigger sizes. A1/A0 sizes will jump to the front of the queue. They will take roughly 3/6 months
🎨 Why This System?
To keep my business sustainable as a solo artist, I’ve chosen to remain below the VAT threshold. This means I’m selective with what I dispatch and when. Thank you for understanding.
🤍 Kindness Matters
This is a one-woman creative business. I pour care and time into every piece, and kind, respectful communication is essential.
After 5 years, I have chosen to prioritise my shop and mental health over completing online orders 24/7.
If you send demanding or unkind emails (e.g. “This needs to arrive for my cousin’s birthday – you’ve ruined everything”), there will be no response.
Thank you for supporting slow, meaningful, independent work.

Please respect that each art piece is hand finished and personalised to you.
I am a sole artist who also runs a shop.
Any date requests that are left in checkout will be regrettably disregarded.
I can not give an accurate estimate of when your personalised order will be completed.
You may request a refund at anytime.
But my event is in a month? Can you still not do my order?
No, I can no longer 'promise' a delivery date.
For now, the information above still applies to Rat Race customers. Unfortunately I can not complete orders asap. A2 + sizes will be prioritised.
Prints
Being a solo artist, I work on a queue basis.
Each item is individual to you and requires focused attention.
Being specific and detailed with your requirements assists speedy delivery.
Designed in the Outer Hebrides of Scotland; You may customise these maps to create a truly unique bespoke piece of art, making for a fun house warming idea, a thoughtful wedding gift, or proud addition to the home.
The print is completed by hand using acrylic gold. The nature of the gold application makes each piece unique in its own right.
Printed on beautiful giclèe fine art paper or unstretched canvas using pigment inks, giving a quality finish.
Each of my pieces is individually designed with a lot of care and detail, regardless of the print size. The time, effort, and materials that go into creating the original artwork remain the same whether it’s printed at A3 or A2.
Because of this, smaller sizes like A3 are no longer viable at a lower price. I’ve chosen to price based on the value of the art itself, not just the paper size.
A3 - £150
A2 - £150
A1 - £215
A0 - £310
These include personal titles and 5 gold locations.
Complicated routes and locations may come an at extra charge.
While you can request an A4 size, it will not alter the price in any way,
I can not give personal estimates, as when you times this with 100+ other orders, it's very confusing.
I’ll send one mockup before printing. (for prints costing £140+)
You can request changes at that stage, but please note that multiple rounds of revisions will incur an extra cost.
If your print involves specific or complex details, I strongly recommend sending a diagram or sketch of what you’d like to ensure we get it right first time.
For now, personalised maps are best suited to people who want one for themselves and are happy to wait, as I understand no one really can plan a gift 15 months in advance.
I currently have over 200 personal map commissions in the queue. I do not take upfront payment, and there is no guaranteed timeline—you are adding your name to the list, not booking a slot. This means I’ll get in touch only when I’m ready to start your piece.
I highly recommend thinking of a backup present, or choosing my pre-made golden beaches prints that can be sent faster.
I used to feel guilty about the wait times, but I no longer let that pressure affect my mental health.
That depends on the size of the print.
I do not have a strict limit, but if it is a complicated piece, (like a long road trip) it may have to be upgraded to A2 (£130)
If they are over 5 locations, please send me and image showing me, most of the time I can google.
Please do not purchase and then list 15+ locations. You must 'show me' (draw) the locations on the map you want, so I can visualise. (or send a google link with them all marked out) Please send this to info@ejaydesign.com
Ordering via my website and using e-mail to communicate will make your order process faster and smoother. It keeps everything together as I can link your e-mail to your order and refer back to mockups.
While I do check instagram and facebook, this is not my main 'system' as I can't link emails to usernames.
Please leave your e-mail during checkout and check your junk.
Please understand I am not a professional framer.
Being on an island, I can not outsource and offer professional framing as I need to print in-house to add the hand painted gold.
I no longer post frames as they damage easily in the post, especially coming from the Hebrides!
If you're collecting from the shop, I may have a few frames to offer you. I would also recommend going to the photography shop beside Cameron's.
Frames can be found on Etsy for very reasonable prices.
Come visit me at 89-93 Cromwell St, Stornoway HS1 2DG, United Kingdom
I am currently building a collection of maps based on the routes the adventure company 'Rat Race' take.
As the routes are set and can not be changed, I can offer a slight discount.
I find these maps are dispatched faster, normally around 3-4 weeks, but this is not guaranteed.
It is £10 less if you do not require gold. Please message info@ejaydesign.com if you prefer this option.
A gold heart will be placed on the cello bag for you to put over your favourite location.
Simply put, a giclée is a fine art print created by using a specialised high resolution inkjet printer.
Giclée prints stand apart with their extremely high level of quality, longevity and value compared to a standard print.
Giclée use pigments instead of dyes which are archival and have a longevity of 200+ years.

I am happy to do all sorts of countries! The Scottish theme is predominant as that's where I come from so was the first thing I started painting. It wasn't really supposed to be the main focus.

An Epson SureColour P900 is used for A4/A3/A2 prints.
Printed on beautiful giclèe fine art, keeping your print vibrant for 80+ years!
Any size over A1 requires a much larger printer and therefore takes more time. Printed on cotton unstretched canvas.
I no longer do wedding stationery.
I do have one wedding invite design that comes with heart stickers you can place over the map.
Feel free to message with a rough estimate of how many invites you need for a price.
However, it is very unlikely I will take on a wedding job if you need them asap. I no longer take any rushed work.
