My aim was to capture the beauty and dream like feeling of the Hebridean beaches by using vivid colour against the moody blues you often see.

My interpretation of the theme revolves around recognising the inherent beauty of nature and emphasising the surreal scenes found in the Hebrides and how they tend to imprint our minds.

The environment I took for granted as a child, evoked a desire to create art which could inspire nostalgia and a sense of ‘home’ to each individual.
